Spivey Construction Building Tutor Time in Mint Hill |
|
There’s not much construction today in Mint Hill. Willis Spivey has been happy to provide a solution.
The contractor for the latest Tutor Time location, 7005 Tutor St., off Matthews- Mint Hill Road near the Lawyers Road intersection, Spivey said what Mint Hill needs right now is “a little momentum.” President of Mooresville- based Spivey Construction, Spivey said work on the learning center started in July.
“Mint Hill needs a shot in the arm and that’s what we’re trying to provide,” he said, noting that as a contractor since 1975 he’s going through his fifth recession. “We’re moving ahead. We’re positive things are going to turn around. We’re not just going to lay down and die,” he said. “I’m not just a developer. … This is what I do for a living.”

Is Michael Jordan Really Building a Home on the Lake? |
|
Rumor has it Michael Jordan is building quite the home on Lake Norman. Located a few miles off Exit 33 in Mooresville, people say the impressive house under construction is so enormous, it has to be for a celebrity like Jordan.
Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but the rumor’s not true. The people moving here are not celebrities, not sports superstars. They’re just a couple who have fallen in love with the area and have asked Spivey Homes to build their custom home here.

Making Room for the Stars |
|
Lake Norman Currents Magazine
Originally, the idea was to simply spruce up the unfinished space above the garage, giving Keith Peabody his own man cave and a place to display all his sports and NASCAR memorabilia.
