Mooresville Tribune During the July 3 event at the Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville, Spivey Homes is helping contribute to the success of their Summer Celebration by being a supporting sponsor and raffling off great family-friendly prizes.
In addition to being a sponsor, Spivey Homes, a custom homebuilder based in Mooresville, is also providing a booth at the event for Dove House, a Children’s Advocacy Center located in Statesville. Since 2003, Spivey has been honored to contribute to Dove House and its mission to help provide a safe harbor for children that have been victims of sexual abuse. To help raise funds for Dove House, Spivey Homes will be holding a special raffle at the YMCA’s Summer Celebration. The grand prize will be a Gorilla™ Pioneer Peak play set provided by Bunch Buildings of Lexington. The deluxe play set comes complete with an observation tower, wave slide, rock wall with climbing rope, swings and rope ladder. Other great prizes include battery-powered ride-on toys, a T-swing set provided by Playground Packages of Wilmington, an autographed Kurt Busch die-cast car and hat, and an autographed football by Carolina Panthers punter Jason Baker. The prizes, including the large play set, will be on display at the event for everyone to see. Tickets are $5 each, five for $20 or 30 for $100, and cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. The drawing will take place at the event, and the winners do not have to be present to win. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to Dove House. The July 3 YMCA Summer Celebration is held each year on the grounds of the Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville offering booths with food, beverages and games, and in the evening an orchestra plays during the fireworks celebration. Dove House was started in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens looking to offer better ways to protect sexually assaulted children in Iredell and Alexander counties. The non-profit organization’s mission is to provide a centralized, safe and child-friendly home environment that supports the investigation and successful prosecution of all reported child sexual abuse cases.
